virgin_ped.JPG (63523 bytes)    This is what a stock GoPed looks like. As you can expect it didn't stay that way for long

virgin_motor2.JPG (63990 bytes)    Here is a shot of a untouched motor.

hp_carb.JPG (63687 bytes)    First mod was a HP carb with a velocity stack.

K&N.JPG (60520 bytes)    Any Go-Fast toy will be out of place without a K&N.

pipe.JPG (61089 bytes)    Next came the pipe. This is the Patmont expansion pipe form GoPed.

As you can tell by my car modifications I was not happy with the performance of my GoPed with just the standard bolt-ons. With that in mind I decided to do a ground up GoPed build. I opted for a crate motor in the form of  a HP 3.4 Reed Motor. Below you can follow the progress of the SSO GoPed build up.

mypipe.JPG (60767 bytes)    This is the Engine Trix pipe.

spindles.JPG (62304 bytes)    Got a couple different spindles. .675, .705, & .750 are shown

3rd_bearing.JPG (61867 bytes)    Here are two different 3rd Bearing supports. Notice how the SpeedSports has the 4th ear for added support.

Well...after getting the SSO Ped together and making some test passes I found that I had a few problems with the setup. First off, you need to make sure you use RED Loc-Tite on EVERYTHING or the Go-Ped will come apart on you. I also found that one of the bolts that holds the adapter plate onto the motor was stripped. This cause the motor to move around and eventually destroyed the rear tire. Below is a few pics of the damaged area. I will attempt to repair the hole and get the Ped back together for some racing action ASAP.

Good news! I was able to helicoil the stripped hole and re-attach the motor. I have also added two new mods to my ped and huge Goped pic folder here.

billet_wheel1.JPG (62983 bytes)    These are the billet wheels that come on the Hoverboard. I think they look right at home on the GoPed.

pole_extender1.JPG (60358 bytes)    Here is the handle pole extender that allows you to use the pole clip with aftermarket pipes.

Here are a few more pics of the Billet wheels and pole extender on the Ped.
