12.23.04 Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine had a Mach 1 shootout last October and they invited 3 of the Fastest Mach's in the country to attend. They wanted a SuperCharged, TurboCharged, and NitriousCharged equiped cars to have a showdown. Below is a clip of the 3 fastest passes of the day by each one of the Machs. Also, I have scanned in the article from the Feb '05 issue where it has pictures of my car. Enjoy! Beware...the Video clip is 7.3MB so you SlugBitch dial-up guys get ready for a long download.

Finally go the 2v tuned over the weekend and boy did she make some
power. For starters the 42lb injectors were swapped out for a set of
55lbers because the injectors were static at 6000rpm. Swapping to the
larger 55s wern't much help as it appears to be a fuel delivery issue
now. The in-tank 255lph and the inline T-Rex along with the stock fuel
rails and lines need to be upgraded to support the extra ponies. After
everything was said and done she kicked out
522rwhp and 445rwtq ron a
Mustang MD dyno. The tuneup had air/fuel set to 11.5:1 until the pumps
ran out. You can see on the dyno graph below were the a/f started to
climb. Timing was set on the low side to kill hp due to the inadequit
fuel system and boost climbed to 12psi at the top of the pull near
6800rpm. Rear wheel HP increased by 112 horsepower with the
addition of the
Livernois
Motorsport Billet Cams,
MAC
Long Tube Headers, and some mild bowl work to the heads. That is pretty
damn impressive in my opinion. Below is a clip of the car idling in the
shop so you can hear the killer exhaust note the new cams kick out.

Took the Mach 1 to the track a few times over the
past few weeks and I have a new best. I pulled a 1.568 60ft on a set of
26x10 ET Drags leaving on the transbrake with bone stock suspension. I
crossed the finish line with a trap speed of 124.638 with an elapse time
of 10.961 seconds.
The 96 GT has been down for almost 2 months now...but
she is running and ready for the dyno. On the way into work one day a
Mod Max valve spring broke and took out the #5 cylinder. I pulled the
motor and the springs replaced. While the head was getting repaired I
had a killer valve job and some minor bowl work done to the heads.
Instead of putting back in the PI cams I upgraded to a set of
Livernois Motorsports
custom 2V cams. They have .570 lift and 224 degrees of duration. I also
found the
FMS
shortie headers to be cracked and unsalvageable. I picked up a set of
used Mac 1 5/8 long tubes for a steal and installed them. The car sounds
wicked at idle. I'll post new dyno graphs and video once the car is
retuned.
09.06.04 It's
been quite a while since I have updated the site, so go check out the
updated Mach 1 Photo Gallery, the
High Octane Racing Clips, and the
Mach 1 Page. I have been very busy with work and
the family these past couple of months. The Mach has had some upgrades
since the last update as well. It now sports a D1SC head unit, 55lb
injectors, Cobra Dual Fuel Pumps, and a Pro-M ATI Blow-Thru MAF. Power
has been raised to 505rw and tq has increased to 460rw. Before the
addition of the D1 I managed to get the car to the track and rip off a
new best of 11.57 @ 122mph. With the new power the car should dip into
the low 11s and with a good tail wind maybe even the high 10s.
Here is a video of my Mach 1 being abused on the
street with a few shots of the motor and the interior. The clip is
almost 10MB so you SlugBitch dial-up users watch out!

Below are a bunch of High Res pics (2048 x 1536) of
the Mach. Perfect for Desktop Wallpaper :)

I installed a new set of wheels on the Mach last week. The stock wheels
are 17x8s at all four corners and ride on 245/45-17s. I opted for 17x9s
for the front and 17x10.5s for the rears. I wrapped the new wheels with
Nitto Extreme 555 tires. The fronts got a set of the Extreme Performance P275/40ZR-17s
while the rears got MONSTER P315/35R-17 Drag Radials. The new
tires bolted up with no problems and there are no
clearance issues at all. I ordered the wheels and
tires from
Discount
Tire and below is the info...

Not much to report. The Mach is in storage and I'm driving the 96 GT
through the winter. It's alot of fun to have 450rwhp on tap with a foot
of snow on the ground. |
