Updated the High Octane Racing Clips
page to reflect all the videos I have on my site. I didn't waste any of
my time on the SlugBitch Bandwidth section. Upgrade from that
SlugBitch Dail-Up! I also found some footage from the NMRA Mach 1
Shootout at Beach Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY. I created a video
clip of a healthy burnout in the Mach.

12.02.03
Uploaded a video of my 11.63 pass at the dirtway.

10.10.03
I've made some minor updates to the Mach 1
section of the site and added a Mach 1
Dyno Data page to clean things up a tad. There is also a few pics of
the ProCharger P1SC on my Mach in the Mach 1
Mods section.
Today I installed a
Lentech 9.5"
Torque Converter to help the Mach 60ft better. This converter is amazing
and woke the car up in a major way. You can find some pics of the
install in the Mach 1 Mods section.

Took the Mach 1 to the NMRA World Finals in Bowling Green, KY and won
the Mach 1 shootout with a 12.05 @ 120mph. I had a few problems on
Friday during test and tune and for the first round of qualifying. The
car was running way off pace with a string of 12.5s @ 111mph. After
looking through the data logs it appeared that the car was only running
15 degrees of total timing and it was running on the fat side. I made
some adjustments to get the car to run 18-20 degrees of total timing and
I leaned the car out a bit The car picked up with a 12.08 @ 119mph and
backed that up with the 12.05 @ 120mph. Below is a High Res shot of my
car taken by Chris Johnson.

Went to Milan again with the Mach and a slight change in the tune-up. We
disabled traction control in the chip to help eliminate the bog out of
the hole. Now I have problems keeping the tires from spinning. I put
together some footage of the Mach making a few passes down the track. The
first one is in the High Octane format and comes in at 5.55MB in size. I
also have a pump gas version weighing in at just under 2.6MB. Enjoy!

Went to Milan Dragway last night and ripped of a few 12.2s and 12.3s
running in the 117-118mph range. I'm having issues with the traction
control not staying off after a burnout. A little more work and I think
I will get the car into the 11s. The best ET of the night was a 12.28
@ 118.1mph. Below are a few pics from the track.

07.21.03
Just got back from the Walsh Motorsports chassis dyno. The Mach 1 spun
the rollers to the tune of 430rwhp and 387rwtq from 9psi
of intercooled boost! That's a gain of 150hp and 79ft/lbs to the tires
peak to peak. There was also at one point in the curve that hp gain was
over 160hp and the tq was over 130ft/lbs. This car is on a mission when
you step on the gas. Below are two dyno graphs. Max power and a before
and after of the blower install.

07.20.03
Received a shipment from MGW Ltd.
with some new billet goodies on Friday and installed them over the
weekend. I also installed a hidden Trans Temp gauge. Below are a few
pics of the new mods.

07.16.03
I finally got the
Lentech valve body with Trans Brake installed in the Mach 1. So far
this has been the most exciting mod to date. The gear changes are fierce
:) I can't wait to get the final tune-up in the car so I can beat on it.
I also have a slick setup in the works for a removable transbrake
button. When I finish it up I'll post the pics. I also added the
finishing touches to my Monster Power Adder mod (see pic below). It will
be on the dyno Monday afternoon if all goes well and I'll post the dyno
numbers when I have them. I'm keeping most of the pics under wraps for a
little bit. I'll post a few pics over then next several weeks to keep
everyone interested.

I think the Autometer Gauge matches the Retro
Mach 1 gauge theme pretty well.

Sorry it took so long to post these pics.
I tore the motor down to the bare block last Monday. I'll let the
pictures speak for themselves.

Carnage :( Took the cars to the annual #Ford IRC GTG track rental at
US41 over the weekend. One car lived...the other did not. The 89 managed
to make one full pass and one half pass before the crank snapped. The
first pass off the trailer the car ran a 9.01 @ 153mph pushing through
the trans brake netting a terrible 60 foot of 1.54 and breaking up in
high gear. The second pass I could not get the trans brake to work so I
foot braked the car and pulled a 1.36 60ft and a 5.67 in the 1/8th mile
at 123mph. The 5.67 converts to a 8.85 @ 156mph. The car was all
over the track and just past the 1/8th mile the car drifted hard towards
the wall and I had to lift. I got partially back into it to straighten
the car out and then the crank broke. I coasted to a 9.30 @ 124mph. It
looks like the Scat 4340 can't handle 950+ hp to the tires. Below are a
few pics of the carnage and video of my Wild Ride.

06.02.03
Dyno'd the 89LX today :) max power was 956 rwhp and max tq was 828
lbs/ft. Below is a dyno graph and two video clips. The first one (2.9mb)
shows all 4 of the dyno pulls and the other one shows just the crop
dusting pull (4.1mb) which is encoded at much higher bit rate.

06.01.03
Well...the DynoPeg movie was a huge success. It received so many hits it
took my site down for 5 days. The movie maxed out my daily bandwidth in
just under a few hours on the 27th of May. It also appears that several
other web sites have direct links to my files and that isn't cool. I
have re-encoded the High Octane Version down to Low Octane quality to
help reduce the bandwidth over utilization issues I ran into last week.
Here is another version of the
DynoPeg that is about 2mb in size for those that would like a higher
quality clip.
Back to race car stuff...I replaced the Weldon 2025
fuel pump on the 89 with a 2035 to keep up with the added hp the X-trim
and the Igloo are going to provide. The car is sitting on the dyno right
now and we will be making a few pulls first thing Monday morning. I'll
post the graphs as soon as I get a chance. The Mach 1 is sitting at an
unnamed facility getting mocked up for a new product that will be
available in a month or two to the rest of the community. All I can say
for now is that I should be one the first few Mach's to break the
400rwhp mark and probably the first Auto to do it. I also have a
TransBrake Valve body sitting in the trunk waiting to go on next. That
should help with the launches at the track.
The #Ford IRC chat channel is hosting its 7th Annual
GTG next weekend @ US41 dragway in Morocco, IN. I will have the 96 GT
and the 89 LX with me. There will be a lot of video cameras there so
hopefully I'll have some new clips to post in a few weeks. Stay
tuned.....
05.15.03 I
added a new video. How to peg a chassis dyno...this is what happens when you
strap a 1700hp car to a dyno. I even took the time to make a small
version for those of you that are still using that SlugBitch dail-up
connection. I will add them to the main clips page in the near future.

Finally got around to finishing up the 96 GT. It now has a
Pro-M 3" Univer Blow-Thru MAF and
a Vortech Max Flow
Race By-Pass. I also had the Steeda
8-Rib conversion installed on it along with a smaller blower
pulley, 2.95 vs. the 3.125 6-rib pulley. The car now makes 15lbs of
intercooled boost and it feels like a rocket in any gear when you get
into boost. We made an easy 462rwhp with a conservative tune running 17
degrees of total timing and keeping the Air/Fuel below 11.8:1 on pump
gas. We did play around with timing and we made a solid 15rwhp with
every additional degree of timing we added. With a tank of C-16 and 5
more degrees of timing, this 2V will make well over 500rwhp and should
go into the high 10s. However, this is a daily driven street car so that
is why we backed off the timing. I'm hoping the car will go 11.50s with
this tune-up on street tires. Any faster and I will have to add a cage,
which is something I do not want to do at this time. Below is copy of
the dyno pull showing max HP and TQ. Max rwtq was 429 ft/lbs.

04.27.03
Took the Mach back to the track with a set of 275/40/17 Nitto Drag
Radials a few weeks back. I found out that the even thou my car has 4.30
gears it doesn't have enough ass to get out of the hole with a sticky
tire. It's a SlugBitch! I could not improve on my best times
because the car would bog off the line. The slight tire spin with the
stock tires allow the car to move up into the power band quicker and net
a lower et. I am planning on installing a
Lentech valave
body with a transbrake in the coming weeks. I may also have to put a
higher stall converter in as well. I will try the valve body first and
if I am not happy with the way the Mach launches, I will swap the
converter.
I also did some major site cleanup and finally got
around to making a new banner to reflect the domain name. I moved a
bunch of stuff around on the Mach 1 page and
added two new sub pages. There is now a Photo
Gallery and a Mods page.
I ordered another mod the other day. Its a Mach 1 ID
Tag. One for the engine bay and one for the console. They were $37
shipping to my door. Gary is
fantastic and responded to my emails lightning fast. He even made a
custom change per my request. I had him change the color of the 'R' in
the VIN to red so it would stand out. The
'R' in the VIN is what defines the 2003 Mustang as an authentic Mach 1.
Here is
a link to the ordering info. Gary
also does Tags for Cobras and Bullits.

04.07.03
The tracks finally opened here in Michigan and I took the Mach to Milan
Drag for some good old Test and Tune. It was 25 degrees out and the
track did not want to hook since they put down the new surface in the
fall. Anyways...the Mach went 13.20 @ 105.6mph on the stock tires
with a 2.0 60ft. I'm sure with some more miles and a drag radail the car
will go 12s. I'll keep you posted.

03.28.03
Finally found time to capture and edit the Dyno Sessions footage. First
pull is on a Mustang Dyno, the second pull is on a DynoJet, and the
third pull is with all the mods in place. The first two pulls are bone
stock. Dyno Video can be viewed here.
I would like to give a big thanks to Greg @
Detroit Speed Works and
Don Walsh Jr. @
Walsh Motorsports for their effort in this dyno comparison.

Modifications numbers are in...Peak HP 280 and Peak TQ 308. You can find
more details on the Mach 1 page.

03.25.03
DynoJet Numbers are in...Base Line 241 rwhp and 271rwtq. We did not
finish with the exhaust upgrade today so we will have to wait till
tomorrow afternoon to see what the gains are. The above numbers are for
show room stock condition.

03.24.03
The 89 is back on the road...some minor wiring clean up and its off to
the dyno. Check out the hood mod to clear the Igloo.

The first dyno numbers are in. 227 rwhp and 253 rwtq
on a Mustang Dyno in bone stock trim. The second dyno graph shows a bone
stock 5-speed pull over layed onto my first pull. Not to far off in HP
between the two.

03.14.03
I took delivery of a 2003 Mustang Mach 1 today. I gave up waiting on my
order at Huntington Ford and found one in dealer stock at Pat Milliken
Ford. This is the exact same car that I had order back in January. The
warm weather made the itch worse than normal. I have started a new page
dedicated to the Mach 1... you can find a link here
and also at the top of every page. I will document the performance,
mods, and anomalies I come across in the next coming months and years. I
have a ton of parts waiting to go on this car as soon as the break in
period is over. I plan to have some dyno comparisons in a week and a
half from now.
I'll keep you posted....
02.15.03
Thanks for all those that voted on the Mach 1 color
last month. The final tally was Red 4 and Grey 12. However, I decided to
go with the Torch Red despite the Dark Shadow Grey getting the majority
of the votes. I felt that since this was a Limited Production run
Mustang that I wanted something that stood out and said "Pull Me Over
and Write Me a
Ticket!" This will be my 3rd Red Mustang. For those of you that frequent
my site you may remember my 92 LX, the Red
Stang that was stolen on 12.10.01, and my 84 GT,
the Red Stang that was stolen on 2.10.92. Due to my current track record
with Red Mustangs I felt it fitting to get a Personalize License plate
of "GONIN60". GONIN60 also makes reference to one of my favorite car
flix...Gone in 60 Seconds,
which centers around a Mustang Mach 1. I also received a build date for
the Mach the other day of 02.24.03. That should put the car at the
dealership the first or second week of March, just in time for the
winter thaw. I'll keep you post on the Mach 1 progress....

As for the status of the 96GT and the 89LX...The 96GT
has been outfitted with an 8rib acc/blower drive utilizing a 2.95"
blower pulley. The car is scheduled to go on the chassis dyno at
Livernois Motorsports
next Wednesday. I plan on getting some new video footage and will post
it along with dyno graphs as soon as I get a chance. The 89 has the
igloo installed and a new blower tube constructed. Due to the fact that
I did not use drop motor mounts and that my intake is raised almost a
1/2" to accommodate my custom Street Heat heads...the Igloo will not fit
under my 4" Harwood hood. We have notched the hood to make the necessary
clearance to get the hood to close. It looks cool having something
poking through the hood. I'll take some pictures the next time I get a
chance. When the weather warms up a little I will be taking the car to
Livernois Motorsports
to dial-in the F.A.S.T.
with the new X-Trim and Igloo. I'm expecting to hit the magic 1000rwhp
number. I've got my fingers crossed.
01.04.03
I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year. I will be adding a new
Pony to my Stable in the coming weeks. My first order of business of the
new year was to get a 2003 Mach 1 ordered. I'm still undecided which
color I want. I have 2 weeks to make a change and could use some
feedback. Here is a link to the Mach 1's that I
have narrowed it down to. Below is a copy of the Vehicle Order
Confirmation I got from the dealer. It has the complete price breakdown
for Retail, Dealer Invoice, A/Z/D Plan, and X Plan.
