12.19.01 The new site is complete. If you find any dead links please email me at corey@SlugBitchRacing.com and I will fix them. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 12.17.01 Nothing has changed with the cars since the last update, however I have been spending a lot of time on a new look for this site along with a better layout. I will be testing out a few differnt layout designs over the next few days/weeks. Please feel free to supply any feed back you want. You can send your comments to Corey. 11.24.01 11.11.01 11.08.01 11.07.01 10.26.01 10.21.01
10.15.01 Nothing has changed :( I have been really busy with work and haven't had time to work on either car. Check out the 4-Sale section as you will notice my old Eagle Crank and H-Beam rods are for sale. I need to move these parts to pay off the engine builder. 10.07.01 Progress! That's all I can say. I am getting close to finishing the 96 GT. It should (I know I've said this before) be running sometime next week. I have started a new page that shows a bunch of pics of the steps involved in building the 4.6 from a block all the way up to dropping it into the car. As of right now this page is a work in progress so check back regularly for updates. You can find it here. The long block is complete and ready to be dropped into the car. As for the 89's motor...we ran into a minor snag...the Oliver Rods were machined wrong from the factory. They were shipped back to get corrected and should be back to the engine builder by Monday. Other than that, the motor is ready to be assembled and should be finished mid week. One piece of advise...NEVER TRY TO BUILD TWO RACE MOTORS AT THE SAME TIME! 09.17.01 Took a few pics of the new crank and rods today. You can find a whole page of pics here. The parts are off to get balanced and final assembly should take place later this week or early part of next week. Also, for those that may be interested...I have my old Eagle Crank and H-Beam rods for sale due the new parts featured here. 08.30.01 Took a few pics of the new 4.6L pistons. Notice the extra beef in the new CP pistons vs. the JE piston. The top ring land is much thicker and the CP has a slightly larger dish. Compression should be 8.7:1 vs 9.2:1 the JE had to offer. For those that are interested stock compression is 9.0:1. Click here for a few more pics of the new pistons. 07.04.01
Happy 4th of July. Both cars are still in pieces :( Hopefully next week I will have the heads back and the 96 will go back together. Hopefully it will get tuned in time to make the Fun Ford Weekend on July 15-17 in Norwalk Ohio. I'll keep you posted with the progress. I'll also be in Stanton, MI at Mid-Michigan Motorplex this weekend for the 2nd Annual NMRA Ford Nationals. 06.25.01 Managed to get the motor pulled today and ripped down to the short block. The motor had severely blown head gaskets. All 8 were blown either to a water jacket, oil jacket, atmosphere, or any combination of the three. I am shocked the car even ran! I also found the exhaust leak. The Ford Motorsport header cracked on the #8 cylinder. I don't think I would of ever found that without pulling the motor. I also dropped the heads off at the machine shop today as well. I want to make sure they are still flat and have the valves checked out. I am going to install a set of 99-01 Gt cams at this time too. I took a bunch of pictures of the motor and head gaskets. You can find them all right here. 06.24.01 Cleaned up a few images that I didn't like the way they looked. I also added links to all Manufactures on my Mustang Stat Page and updated it with all the current parts. 06.22.01 All links are repaired. I am also playing around with a different layout 06.21.01 Site is finally up and running on the new server. All links should work again, but if you happen to find a broken link please E-Mail me. I am aware of few thumb nails that do not work in the Go-Ped and Y2K Mods section and I am in the process of fixing them. I started to tear apart the 96 Gt today. What a PITA those cars are to work on. I am also in the works of obtaining a killer set of rods and a killer crank for the 89 Street Outlaw car. I am also going to buy a new set of pistons and punch the A4 block out a little to get a more common size piston so I don't have to wait as long to get custom ones. It looks like the 96 Gt will get most of my attention over the next few weeks due to the down time on the 89 while I get a new short block built. I will have a Eagle 4340 3.400 stroke crank and Eagle H-Beam 5.400 rods for sale. I am having them checked and when I get them back they will be For-Sale. If you are interested in them please drop me a E-Mail. 06.20.01 Picked up a new addition to our Mustang family today. This will be a summer daily driver for my wife. I hope to get this car setup for some serious action in the NMRA Real Street class. Its a 96 Gt 4.6L with a slew of go fast goodies, along with a blown head gasket and broken heater core. With those problems I was able to get quite a deal on the car. You can get the full specs on the car here. These are the only mods to my knowledge and I will update the page as I find new ones. 06.19.01 Yesterday was a very bad day. To make a long story short...I have 3 broken pistons. At this point it is speculation as to what caused the damage and I don't think I will ever know. On the up side...the car made 3 passes between 148mph and 150mph with the car in that condition. 9.42 @ 150mph isn't too shabby for running on 5 cylinders. And it also shut down a BBF too. The car will probably be down for a minimum of 3-5 weeks while a minor refresh is being done to the short block. I need to order 1 piston since I already have 2 spares. Wish I would of got 4 spares like the Nitrous guys do. And on another note...I'm working on picking up a new ride. It is all ready to rock in roll in the NMRA Real Street Class the way it sits. When the title is in my name I will put of a few pics and the specs as well. Stay tuned... 06.18.01 Site should be moved by tomorrow evening and all links should be operational in a day or two. And here is something I stumbled across surfing the net, LOL. And this, ROFL. 06.14.01 Sorry for the lack of updates but www.5liter.com where this site is hosted for FREE of charge had server and hosting issues last week. The problems have since been resolved and we should be up on a new server by Monday June 18th. Almost, if not all, links are broken at this time. Once we get the site moved to the new server I will begin repairing the links. And after the site is moved, I should have a slew of updates to give everyone. Here is a quick clip of a race down in Bowling Green, KY. Its on a slow connection so please be patient. Details to follow.... 06.05.01 Got the new blower discharged tube coated and installed yesterday. Replaced the bad oil pressure sender and installed a set of remote battery terminals for easy charging between rounds. The car is going on the dyno tomorrow and getting tuned in hopes to make some shake down passes this weekend in Bowling Green, KY at the 5th Annual #Ford GTG. Below are a few pics of the new discharge tube. Click on the image to enlarge. 05.29.01 Yesterday was a good day...I managed to make 4 of my 6 required Licensing passes to obtain my NHRA Competition License which is required to have for cars running faster than 9.99. The first pass has to be a 1/2 track run. The next 3 passes are labeled as Moderate Runs. And the last two passes are suppose to be Full Passes and run in the range of the License you are applying for. My first pass was a 9.94 @ 118mph lifting right before the 1/8th and short shifting as to not put added abuse on the car. The second pass was an amazing 20.3 @ 34mph. I blew the blower discharge tube off at the 60ft mark and coasted to the end of the track. I am pretty impress that the car had enough ass to get it down the track with only running under power for the first 60 feet. On my third pass I ice skated to a 9.32 @ 147.5mph. Here is a clip of the run. Notice how the car fishtails all the way down the track. Also, here is a clip of the burnout. On my fourth pass, I thought I would try something different on the launch and I left off idle. The car did NOT like that. The 60ft dropped to a horrible 1.55 and the 1/4 mile showed the same disgusting results by posting a 9.44 @ 149mph. My buddy Kevin over at Atomic-Banana Racing, who is campaigning a car in the NMRA Street Renegade class, made 3 passes in the 9 second zone for the first time while making his own NHRA Competition Licensing passes. You can catch a clip of his Burnout here and a clip of his Run here. 05.23.01 I added this site to the #Ford IRC Web Ring. You can find several other Mustang and Ford related car sites in this ring. I'm also in the process of adding my new ProM Blow Thru MAF to my combo along with the 160lb injectors I purchased months ago. Here are few pics of the new meter. I swapped my 117mm for this 3 1/2" blow thru. Click on the pictures to enlarge. 05.12.01 Nothing important to comment on. Added a couple new links to the Links Page. 05.09.01 Finally got the Movies up of my first pass in Columbus. A BIG thanks goes out to Spence Hart of Hart Racing for the quality video and mpeg encoding. Click here for the burnout and here for the run. I also attempted to get my NHRA Comp License today at Milan Drag way...all I can say is...MORONS! I will attempt again at another track this weekend. Update - 05.07.01 Here is the data I promised.
05.07.01 Just returned from National Trails Raceway in Columbus Ohio from the 2nd Annual NMRA Ford All-Star Nationals. The good news is...the car is still in one piece. The bad news...the car slowed down big time in the 60ft. I lost over .2 which accounts for .4 in the 1/4 mile. The first shake down pass on Friday netted a 9.5 @ 147mph. 2nd round Qualifying on Saturday I went 9.3 @ 148 mph. On Sunday 1st round Eliminations the car responded with a 9.21 @ 149 mph. And finally, during 2nd round Eliminations the car went another 9.3 @ 149 mph. Tomorrow I will post all 4 passes in full detail. Also, here are a few pics of my car from the Columbus race. 05.02.01 Car is back together with the newly coated headers. The guys over at Dun-Right Q.C.Coatings did a fantastic job on spraying and baking them. I also had my chute mount powder coated by these guys while I waited. Here is a quick link to a few pics of the headers in the Pics folder. I dropped the car off at Performance Innovations yesterday to have the Parachute and Rear Sway Bar installed. I'm picking the car up Friday morning and going down to the Columbus NMRA Race. I will post the results when I return. If things stay together I plan on turning the boost up for the World Ford Challenge 4 in St. Louis May 17-20 for the Wild Street Class. 04.19.01 Got a few more new parts in this week. Hoping to get the new T & D Shaft mount rockers installed this weekend. If all goes well I will be able to get push rods by first part of next week and get everything buttoned up for the NMRA Columbus, OH race on May 4th - May 6th. I'll keep you posted. Here are a couple pics of the new rockers. 04.08.01 More progress on the Stang today! I managed to get the lower control arms on and I also removed a few things from the car to eBay in the next day or two. Check out the difference between the old and the new control arms. And you can see the before and after shots here. More to come... 04.07.01 I finally got off my lazy ass and did some serious work on the Stang Friday. Pulled the heads and did a major inspection. Found 3 serious problems. First, I had a broken exhaust rocker on #5. It looks like I'm going to have to look into a Jesel setup to keep things together. Second, passenger side head gasket was blown between #1 and #2 cylinder and it was also blown between #2 and #3 cylinder. And finally, the driver side head gasket was blown pretty good between #7 and #8. It also appears that this was the side that was blown to the water jackets which was pressurizing the coolant system. No broken pistons or damaged block :). I also decided to have the headers Jet Hot coated because they were a pain in the ass to get off with them rusted together. Its going to take two weeks to get the headers back so that gives me time to get the rest of the other mods done. Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to do the rear suspension. And on a side note...Adrienne's Killer Go-Ped has been assembled and is under going private testing at the local parking lot. Keep your eyes peeled! 04.05.01 Wednesday has turned into Go-Ped racing night. We took a few more pictures of all our Go-Peds but its too late and I'm tired so here is a list of them instead of adding them to the web page. I also made 2 movies of us racing. You can get CLIP1 and CLIP2 by clicking on the link. 04.02.01 Picked up my new toy today. Check it out here. 03.31.01 A major update has been made to the GoPed section of the site. And I also managed to get my Volt and Vacuum Gauges installed in the Mustang over the past few weeks. 03.16.01 I have managed to get off track on the car buildup due to a new toy I bought. Myself and several others have jumped on the Goped bandwagon and bought one of these death traps on wheels. To make matters worse, the after market for these beasts is almost as big as the after market for the Mustang. Can you see where I am headed with this? I have added a link and a BUTTON to a new page for crap related to our Goped build ups. The initial intend for the GoPed was to get around the pits easily with very little effort...we couldn't leave well enough alone and now we have GoPed races during the week and car races on the weekends. There is almost as much shit talk about our Gopeds as there is with our cars :) 03.06.01 I am finally making some progress on the Y2K1 Mods. The link is active now and the page will be updated as I get the new parts installed. Check back regularly for the latest updates.
02.19.01 Not much has changed in the last month except for receiving a bunch of new parts for the Stang. Look for the 'Y2K1 Mods' button to have an active link in the next few weeks. I have a pile of new parts waiting to be installed so I'll have a bunch of new pics. But first, I am going to pull the heads and inspect the motor. The last time out, the car started to smoke and blow coolant out the over flow can. A preliminary check of the coolant and cylinder pressures did not show signs of a head gasket failure... so I may have some major damage. Lets cross our fingers and hope that isn't the case. I also fixed the broken link to the pics.
01.03.01 Happy New Year! Just a few minor updates to note. Added a link to a constantly growing list of car pics. A link to a few pics of my buddy Doc Raj's Car. And, I also added a Links Page. If you are interested in having your site added to my link page please email me with the URL.
